When the fern blooms - Online concert
TOGETHER WITH UKRAINE – charity worldwide online concerts to support Ukraine! Discover the most famous works of Ukrainian composers with an online live broadcast from Lviv National Opera. Your purchased ticket contributes to the support of the Ukrainian people and the unique discoveries of Ukrainian art! On May 20 at 19:00 (18:00 Central European Summer Time), the feerie “When the Fern Blooms” by Yevhen Stankovych will be broadcast. The folk-opera-ballet shows a unique Ukrainian rite of Kupala Night and key historical events of the struggle of the Ukrainian people. The play, which describes the freedom-loving spirit of Ukrainians and their centuries-old traditions, has survived the decades of oblivion, being banned by the Soviet authorities. Watch an impressive show that combines solo and choral singing, modern choreography and video projection. The performers – soloists, choir, orchestra and ballet of Lviv National Opera; conductor – People’s Artist of Ukraine Volodymyr Sirenko. The project’s central aim is to preserve the national musical heritage, promote it in the world cultural space, and support charity. All funds will be used to support the Ukrainian people and culture during the war, particularly for the needs of the Military Medical Clinical Centre of the Western Region, which requires the purchase of resuscitation equipment. ДІЯ 1. КУПАЛО
Картина 1. «Людські Купала»
Сонцекрес. Магічна сила купальського вогнища. Перестрибуючи його, усі проходять ритуал очищення. Спалюється Марена – символ перешкоди буянню людського буття. Поєднання рук і сердець. Найвища пристрасть тілесного вогню – кохання.
Картина 2. «Русалчині Купала»
Відображення у воді. Двоякість існування через загублену долю. Відстороненість від реальності, віртуальність часу і простору. Тяглість до потойбіччя.
Картина 3. «Відьомські Купала»
Оргія пристрасті через сприйняття та оцінку втіхи іншими. Альтернативність існування заради вивищення самого себе.
Картина 4. «Цвітіння папороті»
За легендою, цвіт папороті з’являється – на мить – у найкоротшу купальську ніч. А можливо, цією квіткою і є мить кохання, вільна людська пристрасть, що пізнає самого себе і світ у цю найкоротшу купальську ніч?..
ДІЯ 2. ГЕРОЇКА
«Золотій добі» легендарних часів язичництва, де панувала гармонія людини і природи у всіх своїх проявах повноти буття, протиставляється доба гуманітарної катастрофи, війни, хаосу в Україні, починаючи з козацьких, післякозацьких часів аж до сьогодення.
Кується зброя.
Грає м’язами муштра.
Лунають бої.
Гуляє смерть.
Сподівання на новонародженого сина, який благословляється рідною землею і матір’ю – як майбутня надія України, її поводир і мудрець. Такий, яким був у свій час Байда чи Морозенко.
